Vintage late 50s dress by Blanes. Chiffon type fabric. Beautiful pleated bodice. Very good condition apart from one bone missing from the bodice and a small repair to the skirt which is lost in the folds of fabric.

Marked as a size 16- more like an 8-10!

A real show stopper- perfect for a New years party!

Fabulous Baker Sportswear dress- This is a Maureen Baker design (she designed Princess Anne’s wedding dress don’t you know!) Brand was part of the Susan Small family.
This is a relatively early nylon dress- probably early 50s covered in the most wonderful floral print!
Condition: A few minor marks, overall very good.
Measurements:
Bust: 36-38in

Waist: 27in

Roughly suited to a size 8 to 10

Stunning gold brocade long wiggle dress. Superbly elegant number. Probably early 60s, with matching little round necked jacket.

One of the best early 70s Biba dresses, made from apple green moss crepe. Accented by THE best leaf belt. The dress has a real 40s style to it.
Measurements:

Waist: 36in
Length: 46in

Due to the belt this can be pulled in and made smaller roughly suited to a size 12 or a 10 when tightly belted.

Condition: Very good. One tiny hole near the hem, a few small pulls and the hem requires re-stitching, but nothing to major!

Great 70s Horrockses fashions tea dress. Amazing atomic print. Made from polyester, with matching belt.

Roughly suited to a size 12 or perhaps a 14.
Condition: Excellent.

Fab petrol blue 60s wiggle dress with a gentle sheen by Ladycourt London. An absolutely fab party dress!

The Chap ball- what a night!

Last Saturday I had an absolute BALL (ha ha geddit?) at the Chap Ball.

This was my dress for the night, an amazing full length 30s dress by Laura Phillips. I purchased this from Scarlet Vintage in Bath earlier this year. I wore it with original 30s gold shoes. Very 30s night for sure. I also made the mistake of pincurling my hair. FAIL. My hair is currently too short for pin curling and pre pining up the top of it, it somewhat made me resemble Harry Styles : / woops.

I went with my friend Holly, and saw lots of other familiar (and unfamiliar but equally friendly!) faces there!

This is me with Holly (in the blue) and Vicky (in the green) a fellow vintage lover who is studying on my masters course!

We also met some fabulous Australian bloggers Tim and Jesse from Like Johnny and June(we are with Jesse in this pic) and Michelle from http://ravishingretro.com, and the other person in the photo is the always wonderful Fleur of Diary of a vintage girl (damn Fleur for being so tall and unbelievably elegant!)

P.s. does anyone who was at the ball know who the lady was wearing the AMAZING 50s dress in a chanpagne colour with the heavily structured winged bodice??? I meant to ask her about her dress… but a few too many cocktails meant I didn’t!

Final vintage sale for Advantage In Vintage in 2012!

Over on ebay this week it is the final Advantage in Vintage sale of 2012! Wooooo.

Don’t worry, I will be back again selling next year, I just need a bit of a break to concentrate on my masters. This also means I will be back bigger, and BETTER next year!
