My other Horrockses baby that i had totally forgotten about!

When i say babies in reference to my Horrockses dresses i say it in respect that they are my “children” i really do love them, i sort of wish i didn’t hold sold a connection to my vintage clothes, as it means even if they don’t fit me i couldn’t bring myself to sell them. This piece is a real beauty though. Of my Horrockses numbers it is the only true “ballgown” style dress. It is in excellent condition with the cotton having a slight sheen to it. I think (due to the label) that this is a slightly later piece than my other Horrockses numbers, but i really do love it. The bold floral print is perfectly set off by the muted pale pink background and helps it to be both elegant and understated.

My latest vintage baby- Horrockses

Ahhhh the never ending love for Horrockses it is actually a little worrying. This is my latest purchase which i simply couldn’t resist because of the bold print and quintessential 50’s shape. It doesn’t actually fit me but i needed it to add to my collection! And due to an ebayer not really realising what they were selling it was just £21.00, BARGAIN!!! It is so crisp and fresh, which is definitely one of the biggest advantages of vintage cotton garments, they seem to hold that “life” in them so much better than the finer vintage fabrics.

Easter time

So, the easter holidays have finally arrived and i am now going to try and dedicate some time to writing on my blog. Vintage updates etc. I am currently staying at my mum’s house which is a haven of all things vintage/lovely/ Cath Kidston as can be seen by the pictures. Its a pretty inspiring place to be because of this, and hopefully my design project this term will show off some of this inspiration!
